Hosting and server logs
This website is built as static pages and hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When a page is requested, the server processes connection data: the IP address, the time, the requested address, the previously visited page and the browser identifier. This data ends up in the host’s server logs.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is to deliver the website securely and without errors and to detect attacks. The log data is not combined with other data and is deleted automatically by IONOS after a short time.
Contact form and email
Whatever you send through the contact form or by email is used only to handle your inquiry. That includes your name, your contact details and the content of the message.
The form sends your details to a script on the IONOS server. It forwards the enquiry by e-mail to info@schaberkemal.de and, as a safeguard, keeps a copy on the server that is deleted automatically after 180 days. To prevent misuse, the script remembers for one day how often your IP address has sent the form; it does not store the address itself, only a check value derived from it (a hash with a secret key). Enquiries that look like spam are not forwarded and are deleted after 30 days.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry aims at an order, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is to answer enquiries and to protect the form from misuse. Your details are deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with, unless a statutory retention obligation applies.
No cookies, no analytics
This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics tool. No script runs that records your behavior or reports it to third parties. The only exception is the YouTube video, and only once you start it (next section).
Video from YouTube
The “Process” section contains a video hosted on YouTube. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The video is loaded in privacy-enhanced mode via youtube-nocookie.com, and only when you click the play button. Until then the page makes no connection to YouTube; a photo of our own is shown in its place.
As soon as you click, your browser connects to YouTube’s servers. YouTube learns your IP address and which page you opened, and may store cookies or similar technologies on your device. Data may also be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG, which you give by clicking the play button. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future: stop playing the video and delete YouTube’s cookies in your browser.
Fonts
The fonts Archivo and Faustina are served from the site’s own server. No third-party font service is contacted when a page loads.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to the controller:

- Data portability
- Objection to processing
- Lodging a complaint with a supervisory authority
To do so, write informally to the postal or e-mail address above. Where data is processed on the basis of a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). You may withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future.
If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for this business is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg (Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg), Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
